Loss Of Events Ripple Through Huron East

The Economic Development Officer for Huron East says there's no doubt the loss of both the Seaforth Country Classic Golf Tournament and the Walton TransCan Motocross Grand National Championships for this year will have a financial impact on the community.

Jan Hawley believes the impact will be felt throughout Huron County and into Perth as both events draw people from all over North America.

Hawley adds she's confident both events will be back within the next year or two and says it's important that the community support them when they're ready to return.

Organizers of the Seaforth Country Classic announced they were postponing their event this year because a new tournament in Quebec had attracted many of the players that otherwise would have played in Seaforth.

Organizers of the Walton Transcan Motocross announced their event was being cancelled this year due to the uncertain financial viability of the event for this year and the inability to resolve management disagreements regarding the operation of Title Racing Promotions Inc.
