UPDATE: Thousands Without Power Due To Outage

UPDATE: Power was restored to the area just after midnight on Wednesday, July 26.

'Material failure' is the reason for a power outage that affected over 6,000 Hydro One customers in the southern Bruce County area Tuesday night.

The outage started just before 9:30pm and affected customers in the Kincardine, Huron-Kinloss, Walkerton and Tiverton areas.

Westario customers were also affected due to the Hydro One outage.

Power was restored after midnight.

From July 25 at 9:57pm:

Over 6,000 Hydro One customers are currently without power due to an outage in the Kincardine, Huron-Kinloss, Walkerton and Tiverton areas.

The hydro company reported the outage Tuesday evening just before 10pm.

Hydro crews have been dispatched to try and fix the issue, but the cause of the outage remains unknown at this time.
