Homeowner Thwarts Break-In In Grey Highlands

A homeowner in Grey Highlands thwarted a break-in attempt to her home.

On August 7 at 6:10pm, Grey County OPP responded to a report of an attempted break-in at a residence located on Highpoint Cres. in the Municipality of Grey Highlands. The homeowner investigated a loud noise that was made when a male suspect forced his way into the back door. He immediately fled when confronted by the homeowner.

Police learned that ten minutes prior, the homeowners wife observed an unknown grey vehicle in the driveway occupied by a male and female. The female approached the windows, and knocked on the door, but the homeowner didn't answer.

The female suspect is described as being in her late 20s to early 30s, with dark brown hair piled on top of her head, wearing a white dress with multi-colours on it. Her back was covered in tattoos.

The male suspect looked to be in his 30s and had dark hair.

Anyone with information on this attempted break-in should contact Grey County OPP or Crime Stoppers.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
