Official Groundbreaking Of New Hospital Near Fergus

Construction is officially underway on the new Groves Memorial Hospital in Centre Wellington.

Hospital staff and dignitaries, including Wellington-Halton Hills MPP Ted Arnott, gathered for the official ground-breaking ceremony this morning at the site near Fergus.

Arnott spoke about the importance of the hospital project to the community in his remarks:

"We are embarking on nothing less than building the future of primary health care in this community, and an example of innovation, collaboration and partnership that the rest of Ontario could emulate."

The new $144-million hospital is expected to be completed in the spring of 2020.
