Novice North Stars Win Gold

The Xerox Novice Owen Sound North Stars won gold in the Provincial Lacrosse C Division.
They defeated Barrie 10-6 in the championship final, led by Nathan Laycock with 4 goals. Logan Klages struck 3 times for the North Stars. Nolan MacVicar, David Rouse and Jonah Kerr had singles in the win.
They defeated Orangeville 9-4 in the semi finals and took a 6-5 overtime win over Clarington in the quarter final.

Jonah Kerr had the most goals of any player in the tournament, scoring 17 throughout including 5 in the team's 11-9 win over Barrie to open the provincials and five more in the team's 11-9 win over Innisfil.

Brock MacIlmoyle scored 8 goals for the North Stars in total. Nathan Laycock found the net in each of the team's six games including 4 goals in the final to earn a total of 10 goals in the tournament.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
