High levels of air pollution are possible this afternoon.

An AIR QUALITY WARNING is in place due to the possibility of deteriorating air quality. Hot and sunny conditions are expected to cause increasing ground-level ozone concentrations this afternoon. Moderate risk AQHI values are expected throughout the day with the potential of short-term high risk AQHI values in the afternoon.

When air pollution levels are high, everyone should limit time outdoors. Consider reducing or rescheduling outdoor sports, activities and events.

You may experience mild and common symptoms such as eye, nose and throat irritation, headaches or a mild cough. More serious but less common symptoms include wheezing, chest pains or severe cough. If you think you are having a medical emergency, seek immediate medical assistance.

People more likely to be impacted by outdoor air pollution, including people aged 65 and older, pregnant people, infants and young children, people with an existing illness or chronic health condition, and people who work outdoors, should reduce or reschedule strenuous activities outdoors and seek medical attention if experiencing symptoms.

<p><div>The Xerox Novice Owen Sound North Stars won gold in the Provincial Lacrosse C Division.</div>

<div>They defeated Barrie 10-6 in the championship final, led by Nathan Laycock with 4 goals. Logan Klages struck 3 times for the North Stars. Nolan MacVicar, David Rouse and Jonah Kerr had singles in the win.</div>

<div>They defeated Orangeville 9-4 in the semi finals and took a 6-5 overtime win over Clarington in the quarter final.</p><p>
Jonah Kerr had the most goals of any player in the tournament, scoring 17 throughout including 5 in the team's 11-9 win over Barrie to open the provincials and five more in the team's 11-9 win over Innisfil.</p><p>
Brock MacIlmoyle scored 8 goals for the North Stars in total. Nathan Laycock found the net in each of the team's six games including 4 goals in the final to earn a total of 10 goals in the tournament.</div></p>
