Three Loose Dogs Attack Man And Puppy In Saugeen Shores

Saugeen Shores police are looking for the owners of three large dogs that were running loose along the shoreline and attacked a man walking his puppy.

The man was walking his 12-week old husky malamute cross about 4pm on Wednesday afternoon near Blanchfield and Eckford Dr. when the attack occurred. The dogs were running north and attacked his dog as he picked it up to protect it. Two people intervened and chased the dogs away.

The puppy has serious hind leg injuries, and the man has bites to his hand and forearm. The puppy is at Southampton animal hospital, and the man was treated in local hospital.

The larger dog was brown and tan and looked like a Rottweiler cross. the smaller dogs were golden and brown.

Police need to find the owners of the dogs or the victim will have to undergo the rabies vaccine regimen.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
