Goderich Recreation Park In Final Four Of Kraft-Heinz Competition

The Goderich entry for the Kraft-Heinz Project Play contest is into the final four.

The announcement was made during half-time of the Toronto Argonauts and Hamilton Tiger Cats game Monday night.

The entry looks to upgrade the former Agricultural Park -- now called Goderich Recreation Park --  by fixing the field drainage, adding a new soccer pitch, and constructing three baseball diamonds. Those diamonds would include seating for fans, covered dugouts and a batting cage. Organizers are also planning a pavilion with washrooms.

Volunteer Steve Hewitt says the park has not any any major upgrades in 40 years.

The Goderich entry gets $20,000 for making it to the final four and now has the chance to win $250,000. The other finalists are: Saskatoon, Saskatchewan; Bible Hill, Nova Scotia and Brandon, Manitoba.

Voting begins September 8.  Click here for more information.
