OPP Investigate Reports Of Cougars Near Belwood Lake

Wellington County OPP say they cannot confirm social media posts suggesting cougars have been seen in the Belwood Lake area.

The OPP are asking people who think they may have seen a cougar, to contact them, or the Ministry of Natural Resources.

So far, there have been no official reports of cougar sightings.

The OPP would like to remind anyone who comes across a public safety concern to contact police at 1-888-310-1122 or for emergencies 911. The OPP do not routinely monitor social media for public safety concerns or hazardous situations.
