Vacancies On Drinking Water Source Protection Committee

The Ausable Bayfield Maitland Valley Drinking Water Source Protection Committee is trying to fill three vacancies.

Program Supervisor Geoff Cade explains the committee has a total of 15 members, divided into three groups -- an economic sector, a municipal sector, and what is called "other," which is environmental, health and areas of public interest.

Two of the three new members would be in the agricultural sector and the third would be in the environmental sector.

Cade points out they usually have two or three meetings a year with each meeting lasting about half a day.  There is also some reading and preparation required for each meeting and they're looking for a commitment of a three to five years from each member.

Anyone interested in sitting on the committee should send a resume either by mail or email to General Manager Brian Horner at the Ausable Bayfield Conservation Authority in Exeter before September 25.
