South Bruce Peninsula Councillor Charged With Assault

A South Bruce Peninsula councillor has been charged with assault

South Bruce OPP say they investigated an assault that took place Tuesday about 1130am on George St. in the Town of South Bruce Peninsula.

The victim, a 55-year old man from South Bruce Peninsula, suffered minor injuries as a result of the incident.

The OPP has arrested 67-year old Craig Gammie of South Bruce Peninsula.

Gammie was held for a bail hearing scheduled for Friday.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
