Grey Bruce Health Welcomes New Doctors

Grey Bruce Health Services in Owen Sound officially welcomed recently arrived doctors to the facility.

Staff and family at the hospital gathered for a reception for the 12 new physicians whose fields range from family and emergency medicine through psychiatry and neurology.

Hospital C-E-O Lance Thurston says the new doctors are an excellent addition to the more than 200 doctors already affiliated with the facility.

"It really strengthens our hospital medical model and certainly strengthens the relevance of the hospital and provides better service to the community," says Thurston.

He notes the new doctors are from all over Canada as well as places like South Africa, Nigeria, and Ireland.

"Owen Sound Grey Bruce has a wonderful reputation within the medical learning community as being very welcoming, great place to learn, great place to work and raise families."

Along with the new physicians, Grey Bruce Health Services also welcomes two new Family Medicine residents from McMaster University in Hamilton.

They'll complete two years of training with the Owen Sound Family Health Team.
