Home Sales Lower In Grey Bruce

Home sales in Grey Bruce Owen Sound dropped over 20% from the record activity recorded in August 2016.

However, the 285 units that changed hands last month was still the second best August in the last ten years.

Year-to-date sales are still at a record level, with the 2,163 sales representing a 3.6% increase over the same period last year.

The average price of homes sold in August 2017 was over $292,000, which is a 9.6% increase over last year.

Active listings are down more than 40% from last year, and 54% below average.

There were 892 active listings, and properties are selling in an average of three months.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
