Lakers Defeat Salmonbellies to Tie CLA Mann Cup 2-2

Owen Sound native Adam Jones set up four of the Lakers' goals as Peterborough edged New Westminster 9-7 to tie the Canadian Lacrosse Association's 2017 Mann Cup at 2-2.

Jones set up Curtis Dickson's game winning goal at midway point of the third period and set up Joel Matthews just over five minutes later to pad the Lakers lead.

Dickson scored twice and had two assists in the win. Thomas Hoggarth struck twice and set up another for Peterborough and Turner Evans had a pair of goals.

Evan Kirk turned aside 49 shots for the Lakers.

The Salmonbellies were led by Mitch Jones with two goals and three assists.

Game 4 goes Wednesday night at 7:30pm PDT or 10:30pm EDT.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
