South Bruce OPP Make Two Arrests After Search Warrant Issued

The South Bruce OPP have made two arrests in connection with stolen property.

On September 14 at 8:37am, police received a report of a stolen vehicle from a residence in the 2300-block of Concession 2 in Huron Township. The owner saw his vehicle being taken from the driveway. The truck was found on River Mill Line in Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh Township. A young offender was arrested near the stolen truck.

At 1:10pm the same day, members of the OPP Community Street Crimes Unit of Grey/Bruce/Huron/Perth, West Region OPP Emergency Response Team, Huron OPP officers, and South Bruce OPP officers executed a search warrant at the River Mill Line property where the initial arrest took place.

They located a stolen Chevy Silverado pick-up, a stolen Honda CRV, and a stolen Yamaha RS Rage snowmobile. The estimated combined value of the items recovered was $73,000.

As a result of the warrant, 42-year-old Katharine Upshall of no fixed address was charged with possession of a controlled substance and three counts of possession of stolen property.

A 17-year-old young offender was charged with possession of a controlled substance and three counts of possession of stolen property.

Both accused were held in custody pending the result of a bail hearing scheduled for September 15, 2017.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
