Rent Increase Announced For Huron County Seniors' Homes

Rent in Huron County's seniors homes is going up in January.

Administrator Connie Townsend says the rent is going up by 1.8% and that's based on the provincial Rent Control Guideline which they follow.

The rent is increased annually and the announcement is made a couple of months before it goes into effect.

Townsend also points out the rent is the only payment tenants make and the rent includes 15 meals a month and one hour of housekeeping a week.

This increase will take effect in January of 2018.
