SUV Crashes Into Stratford Diner

Sunday brunch at a restaurant in Stratford was interrupted suddenly, after an SUV crashed through the front window.

Shortly after 10am, first responders were called to the Two Gals and a Diner on Queensland Dr. after the 2015 Nissan Rogue drove into the restaurant and inside the building.

Four customers suffered injuries. Three were taken by ambulance to Stratford General Hospital, and later released. The other injured patron was treated at the scene.

Police determined that the 86-year-old man who was driving the Nissan had been attempting to park in front of the restaurant and accidentally put his foot on the accelerator instead of the brake, sending the vehicle into the front window.

The driver was not injured, and police say no charges will be laid.

Damage to the restaurant is estimated at $20,000. The SUV sustained extensive front end damage.
