Some Federal Funding For Midwestern Ontario

A couple of local communities are receiving federal funding under two new programs: the Municipalities for Climate Innovation Program and the Municipal Asset Management Program.

Funding was announced today for 103 initiatives across the country, including Brockton, Perth County, and Huron Kinloss.

Brockton will receive $50,000. for developing a roadmap to sustainable infrastructure.

Huron Kinloss will get $43,120 for Building Asset Management Analytical Capacity, and Perth County will use $20,000 for a facility condition assessment.

The programs help municipalities ensure they are investing their infrastructure money wisely.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
