Woman Charged In Owen Sound Crash

An Elmwood woman has been charged after a collision forced one vehicle off the road in Owen Sound.

The Owen Sound Police Service says on Wednesday around 12:10pm, a 2013 Nissan SUV was sideswiped by a 2015 Nissan SUV at the intersection of 9th Ave. E and 16th St. E.  The force of the crash caused the first SUV to drive up onto the front lawn of a local business.

Both vehicles were heavily damaged and were towed from the scene.

Thanks to front and side air bags, the 66-year-old Owen Sound woman who was driving the 2013 Nissan only suffered minor injuries.

The driver of the 2015 Nissan, a 36-year-old woman from Elmwood, has been charged failing to stop at a red light.
