Huron Economic Development Board Declines Funding Request

A request for funding from the Great Lakes Waterfront Trail Association has been turned down by the Huron County Economic Development Board.

Cody Joudry, acting director of economic development for the county, says the funding request was passed on to the Economic Development Board because the county imposed a moratorium on grants for 2017 due to funding required for the International Plowing Match.

The request for $2,000 on an annual basis was turned down because the board's policy does not allow operational funding on an on-going basis.

Joudry says his understanding is the association will appeal to municipal councils for funding.
