Team Warriner wins Junior Slams

The Listowel-based rink skipped by Maddy Warriner won the U18 Orion Junior Slam at the Galt Country Club in Cambridge over the weekend.

Team Warriner beat Team Middaugh 7-4 in the championship final and only suffered on loss during the tournament.

Team Warriner also includes vice Sarah Bailey, second Brianne Donegan and lead: Shannon Warriner. The team is coached by Bruce Cox.

The ladies will now play in the U18 Player's Championship Slam at the Guelph Curling Club April 14th-16th. The top two teams from the Junior slams will face the top three finishers from the TCA Slams and the U.S. junior tour champions in the play down style event. It's the first championship event for the Junior Slams.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
