Walkerton Hosts Economic Development And Innovation Summit

A high-level economic planning meeting is being held in Walkerton, one week from Tuesday.

Bruce County and Bruce Power will host their second Economic Development and Innovation Summit.

Over 100 participants from local governments across Bruce, Grey and Huron Counties are involved, along with local and regional economic development organizations and Bruce Power suppliers who have a local presence.

The Summit is designed to share experiences on the success of the Economic Development and Innovation Initiative, and make plans to continue building a sustainable regional economy.

The day-long Summit is at the Best Western Plus in Walkerton on Tuesday, November 7.

One of the keynote presentation is from the Managing Director, Economic Research for the Ontario Municipal Employees Retirement System pension fund.

There will also be an update from Bruce Power President and CEO Mike Rencheck on Bruce Power’s Life Extension Program and Community Engagement.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
