McBurney Funeral Home Pledges to Wingham Hospital Redevelopment

The Wingham and District Hospital Foundation is getting another major donation toward the hospital's redevelopment project.

The owner of McBurney Funeral Home has pledged $25,000 to the foundation.

"I know the importance of giving back," says Dayna Deans, who took over ownership of McBurney’s in the summer of 2016. "I’m not going to wait until I’m older to support something as important as our local hospital."

Construction on the redevelopment project at the Wingham and District Hospital is ongoing.

The first of six departments seeing major expansion and refurbishment is the Oncology clinic and the adjacent Pharmacy. The entire project has an estimated cost of $17-million.

Renovations to the nursing, specialist clinic, medical device reprocessing and surgery facilities are also part of the long-term project.
