The remains were found Thursday just before 3:30pm.
Tests were done and police confirm they are human.
The OPP's Emergency Response Team and a canine unit are searching the area today while forensics teams are continuing the investigation.
Police say the investigation is in its early stages and won't be able to provide any more information at this time.
