South Bruce Woman Assaulted With Weapon

South Bruce OPP responded to a report of a woman assaulted with a weapon.

Police arrived about 3:30am Friday morning at a residence along concession 14 in Carrick Township.

The woman was taken to hospital for treatment, but the suspect had left the residence before officers arrived.

Police found the suspect's pick up truck along Absalom St. in Mildmay and called in the Emergency Response Team to assist with the search.

A man was located and arrested without incident about 11:30am.

A 31-year-old Carrick Township man is charged with two counts of assault with a weapon, assault causing bodily harm and dangerous driving.

He is scheduled to appear in court for a bail hearing on Saturday.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
