Police Investigate Port Elgin Theft

Police are asking for the public's help concerning a jewellery store break-in in Port Elgin.

Saugeen Shores Police say the incident happened in the early morning hours of Thursday. Somebody used a rock to smash the front window of Elgin Jewellers. Items were taken from the front display but the rest of the store was not disturbed.

Police are working with the owner to obtain a complete inventory of what was taken.

At the time of the incident, police say there was a power outage in the Port Elgin area, including the downtown area.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
