South Bruce Peninsula Prepares To Build Skate Park

South Bruce Peninsula Council and the Wiarton Optimists will gather to kick off construction of a new skateboard park in Wiarton.

The new skateboard park will be built on the east side of the pool in Bluewater Park.

It should be open by next summer.

Mayor Janice Jackson says its part of their goal to bring more recreational activities in the community.

The Optimist Club raised two-thirds of the overall funding needed, and Jackson is confident they can raise the remaining funds before the grand opening.

Tuesday's groundbreaking ceremony starts at noon at the future site of the park.
