Local Listowel Blood Donor To Be Honoured For 100th Donation

Canadian Blood Services are honouring a local Listowel couple for their years of donations.

Ron Berlett and his wife Cathy grew up in Listowel and have been donating blood for years.

Ron is about to make his 100th donation, and between him and Cathy, they have 176, which could have helped three car accident victims, 22 leukemia patients receive treatment for a week, or 88 people undergo brain surgery.

Ron is being honoured December 8 at 6:30pm as he makes his 100th donation at the Listowel Blood Donor Clinic at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church on Wallace Ave. in Listowel. Cathy will be making her 78th donation.

More donors are needed nationwide, and Canadian Blood Services urges more locals to get involved.
