AMDSB's EatFit Project Heads To Nunavut

Ten high school students from Stratford are getting an early taste of winter weather.

They are heading to Baffin Island next week to learn and teach about healthy eating, fitness and wellbeing in a remote Arctic community.

The students will be teaching cooking classes and helping with yoga instruction in the Inuit community. They will also be learning about the people and geography of Nunavut.

The school they visit will become their home for nine days, as the students will sleep there as well.

The ten students are from Stratford Central and Stratford Northwestern schools.

They leave next Thursday for Nunavut. The trip is being paid for by the Nunavut Food Security Coalition.
