Huron Perth Landowners Says Property Owners Need To Pressure Governments

A director with the Huron-Perth Landowners Association says the Magna Carta that was created in the Middle Ages in England was the king's response to public pressure.

John Schwartzentruber says he believes property owners of Huron and Perth have to put the same kind of pressure on the government at the local and provincial level.

"It's not that we don't want law. It's not that we don't want regulation. But we want to arrive at reasonable regulations by agreement and not just by imposition,” Schwartzentruber explains. b“I believe the problem starts when our local municipalities feel pressured by the Province to implement policies as if they were law when in fact they are policies.”

About 200 people attended a Huron-Perth Landowners Association meeting in Brodhagen on Thursday night where the topic of discussion was the Magna Carta.
