Fake $100 Found In Dundalk

There's a warning today about counterfeit bills circulating in the area.

Grey County OPP received a call from the CIBC Bank in Dundalk last week, reporting that they were in possession of a counterfeit Canadian $100 bill.

The counterfeit bill was received by Highland Gas Bar on Main Street East in Dundalk.

The OPP recommend you always check your cash, including polymer notes. The Bank of Canada won't reimburse you for counterfeit money.

A free, Bank of Canada Guide to Verifying Canadian Bank Notes is available at the Chatsworth OPP Detachment on Highway 6 & 10 in Chatsworth during normal business hours - 8:00 to 4:00 p.m., Monday to Friday.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
