GOJHL Wrap: Elmira Chases Woroniuk from Net

Jeremy Goodwin set up four the Sugar Kings goals in Elmira's 6-1 win over Brantford.

Ethan Skinner struck twice and added an assist in the win. Jeff Jordan had a pair of goals for Elmira and Ethan Wiseman scored and had two helpers. Niki Molson also scored for the Sugar Kings.

Eric Eschweiler had the 99ers only goal, the first goal of the game at 8:12 of the first period.

Mat Woroniuk was pulled early in the third period after allowing all six goals on 20 shots. Cameron Gratton made 8 saves in relief.

Sarnia 4 St. Marys 2

The Lincolns pulled goalie Tristan Lewis in the final minute of the game, looking for the tying goal but instead allowed Greg Hay to score for Sarnia as the Legionnaires doubled St. Marys 4-2.

Dalton Bancroft and Michael Andrews scored for the Lincolns.

The Legionnaires got goals from Joel Pavey, Ethan Dupont, Jake Vince and Hay.

Lewis made 33 saves in the loss. Will Barber stopped 23 shots for Sarnia.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
