South Bruce Residents Lose $13K In Scams

South Bruce OPP are investigating after two residents lost a total of $13,000 in different scams

One victim sent $8,000 after being told there was an outstanding debt with the Canada Revenue Agency

Another person sent $5,000 to Microsoft for computer repairs.

The OPP are reminding residents that tech-savvy scammers use technology to create convincing schemes to trick you into sending money.

They often use the name of a real company to gain your trust. Police say you should verify any unsolicited contact.
