Vehicles and Home Hit By Thieves Near Shipka

Thieves have been making the rounds near Shipka in southern Huron County.

Seven thefts from vehicles have been reported in that area west of Exeter, and one house was ransacked.

All of the thefts from vehicles took place during the late evening on November 22 and into the early morning of November 23.  Most of the thefts took place on Crediton Rd. between Corbett Line and Blackbush Line.

Police say all the vehicles were unlocked, and property was stolen from six of the seven. Stolen items included $1,500 worth of power tools, a wallet, loose change, a GPS system and vehicle ignition keys.

Police are also investigating a break, enter and theft at a home near Shipka on Friday.

Between 6:10am and 4:50pm, someone broke into the unoccupied house through the garage and ransacked the home.

Some of the stolen items included a 40 inch flat screen TV, jewellery, luggage and several bottles of alcohol. In total, about $3,000 in property was taken.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
