Sugar Kings Overcome Early Deficit

The Elmira Sugar Kings rebounded from a 1-0 deficit after the first to beat Kitchener 4-1.

Ethan Wiseman and Karson Massey scored in the second to give the Sugar Kings a 2-1 lead. Matt MacKay scored on the power play at 14:17 of the third and Ryan Takamatsu also found the back of the net at 15:58.

Liam Hurley was the lone scorer for the Dutchmen.

Rhett Kimmel stopped 26 shots for Elmira. Lucas Pfeil made 29 saves for the Dutchmen.

Elmira is in third place in the Midwestern Conference with 30 points. Listowel is in first in both the conference and the league with 42 points and a 21-4-0-0 record.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
