Childhood Trauma Addressed At Owen Sound Meeting

Grey Bruce Health Services hosts a public meeting this week to help people cope with trauma or stress in their youth.

Psychiatrist Dr. Benjamin Loveday will discuss how families can protect children from the impacts of stress. And he will help adults begin to understand and heal from their own experiences of childhood trauma.

Parents, families, and caregivers will learn to recognize the destructive coping strategies that adolescents and adults use if they were impacted by a chaotic environment or traumatic event.

The meeting runs from 7 to 8:30 pm at the Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre in Owen Sound this Thursday evening.

Its free and no registration is required.
