Building Activity Strong In Mount Forest and Minto

A proposed new Mount Forest subdivision will be completely affordable housing.

H. Bye Construction of Mount Forest is proposing a subdivision of 30 townhouses off London Road, just north of Wellington Street.

Mayor Andy Lennox says the new subdivision demonstrates continued growth in Wellington North, and it provides a healthy mix of housing types.

Meanwhile, Minto continues its record-breaking construction activity.

To the end of November, there were 215 permits issued, worth almost $28-million. That compares to the same period last year when 193 permits were issued worth $17-million.

Chief Building Official Terry Kuipers says agricultural and residential permits continue to play a big role in the increase.

He's predicting next year should be much the same.
