Building And Expanding In Goderich

The mayor of Goderich says he's pleased with the progress that's been made on a number of fronts in the past year.

Kevin Morrison says the construction of a new hotel should be done by summer and there is the work on the harbour and the updates to the Recreation Park that are ongoing.

Morrison says the work on the hotel is well on its way.

"We've had a few hiccups but it's a major development," says Morrison. "In fact, one of the largest developments we've had and certainly the largest in the hospitality industry here in Goderich."

The town is also planning 30 additional affordable housing units in 2018.

Challenges include dealing with the downloading from upper levels of government.

And 2018 also marks a municipal election in the fall.
