Perth County Crime Stoppers Marks 30th Anniversary

The Crime Stoppers organization in Perth County is celebrating it's 30th anniversary this year.

Since it's inception in 1988, Perth County OPP has recovered over $6.5-million worth of property and drugs based on information from Crime Stoppers tips.  The organization is responsible for 747 arrests and 1,130 charges.

But Perth County Crime Stoppers Program Co-ordinator Constable Shawn McFalls says although tips continue to be received, the numbers could be significantly higher.

"There are observations made by the public every day that still go unreported," he says. "Your information may be the missing piece that police have been searching for to complete an investigation."

Submitting a tip has never been easier. Visit www.pc-crimestoppers.ca or call 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS). You may be eligible to receive a cash reward of up to $2,000.

The board of directors consists of volunteers from across Perth County. Openings currently exist and those interested are encouraged to call 226-303-4181 for more information on this volunteer opportunity.
