Perth Huron United Way Hopes To Meet Fundraising Goad

The Perth-Huron United Way has raised $1.1-million so far in the 2017 but still needs support.

The goal is $1.556-million to support 50 partners, programs, and services that help build strong communities.

The Paint the Town Red 2017 helped raise $8,574 in communities like Stratford, Listowel, St. Marys, Goderich, Sebringville, Exeter, Mitchell and Wingham.

And Care-A-Van of Hope brought in over $194,000, including a $15,000 donation from Scotiabank.

The Care-A-Van stopped in the communities of St. Marys, Exeter, Goderich, Listowel, Milverton, Mitchell, and Stratford.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
