Smoke Alarms Wake Williamsford-Area Family

An early-morning fire near Williamsford sent a family out into the cold.

Just before 3am on Wednesday, smoke alarms alerted the family who escaped from the home. A 46-year-old man and a 10-year-old girl were taken to hospital as a precaution.

The Chatsworth Fire Department and OPP were at the scene along Hwy. 6 for several hours.

The extent of damage has not been determined, and the cause of the fire is not considered suspicious.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
