NDP Candidate Selected For Bruce-Grey Owen Sound Riding

The Bruce-Grey Owen Sound NDP has its candidate for the coming provincial election.

Karen Gventer was unopposed and acclaimed as the candidate at a nomination meeting in Owen Sound.

She believes NDP can reach people with their message of equality and fairness.

"There are a lot of people who are disenchanted with the electoral process in general and I believe we can bring those people on board by showing that we can have a better Ontario for them and for all of us," says Giventer.

Gventer is not new to politics in Bruce Grey Owen Sound. She's twice run for the NDP federally and once provincially. She looks forward to another campaign.

"I will be out there quite a bit knocking on doors and meeting people at public events and I look forward to it, I look forward to listening to what people are concerned about," says Giventer.

Gventer works in health care and is president of her OPSEU local. The NDP's party platform includes the introduction of Pharmacare and lowering energy rates.
