Brockton Wants To Hear From Seniors On Municipal Matters

Upcoming age-friendly community workshops in Brockton will be geared towards helping council single out older adults they feel could benefit the municipal council.

Brockton is initiating Community Advisory Committees that will be made up of primarily baby boomers, which will serve as communication avenues for older residents to put forward initiatives to Brockton Council.

The workshops are in partnership with the Council on Aging for Grey Bruce, which will select one member to sit on their own council.

In addition, the Older Adults Community Programs are offering free exercise classes, pickleball, carpet bowling and more.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
