Cretier Sentencing Delayed Until Monday In Goderich

A sentencing hearing for a North Huron Man accused of sexual misconduct involving youth has been put off until next Monday morning at 10am.

Martin Cretier, 72, was found guilty on all 16 charges in late November and was scheduled to be sentenced Wednesday in court in Goderich.

Victim impact statements were read in the morning, calling Cretier the dark shadow in the home and a monster who used his position in the community to prey on young people.

Also on Wednesday, Cretier pleaded guilty to six new indictments.

Justice Peter Hawking said he needs to review those indictments before making a ruling on sentencing.
