Powerful Drug In Owen Sound

A drug 100 more times potent than Fentanyl and 10,000 more times potent than Morphine has been found in Owen Sound.

It's called Carfentanil and for the first time has been confirmed in two recent Owen Sound Police Service investigations.

In October of last year, police seized drugs at a downtown apartment and Health Canada recently confirmed the presence of Carfentanil in the drugs.

Also in October, an impaired driver was stopped. Blood taken from the driver was analyzed and Carfentanil was found in the sample.

Police say Carfentanil is a highly dangerous substance that can be lethal in very miniscule doses.
