PJHL Wrap: Ironmen Hold on to Early Lead to Beat Hawks

Aidan Quish stopped 21 shots to give Mount Forest a 3-2 win over Walkerton.

Hayden Coulter led the Patriots with a goal and an assist. He opened the scoring for Mount Forest just 4:16 into the game. Klayton Hoelscher made it 2-0 with a short handed goal in the latter half of the opening frame.

Walkerton's Brendan Welsh put the Hawks on the board midway through the second. Dawson Bolger's goal just 22 seconds later would stand as the game winner.

Matt Geifert tried to spark a rally for Walkerton at 11:39 of the third but the Hawks couldn't come up with the equalizer.

Cody van der Heide took the loss, making 18 saves.

Wingham 6 Mitchell 4

Wingham jumped to a 3-0 lead after the first and went on to beat Mitchell 6-4.

Jamie Huber and Josh Higgins scored and set up two each for the Ironmen.

Logan Tolton and Shane Vollmer also scored and had an assist each for Wingham.

The Hawks were led by Nick Jung with two goals and an assist.

Jamie Brock stopped 30 shots for the Ironmen. Tyler Parr made 29 saves for the Hawks.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
