Fewer Flu Cases Being Reported In Perth County

There are signs the flu may be easing in Perth County.

The health unit reports that as of Monday, there have been 25 cases of influenza A and 20 cases of influenza B in Perth County, which were confirmed through lab testing.

However, many people who are sick do not see a doctor or get tested, so the lab-confirmed cases only represent a small proportion of people who have the flu.

The flu shot is the best protection against the flu and is still available through family doctors and select pharmacies.

The health unit is also urging people who are sick to avoid visiting long-term care homes or hospitals and stay home.
