Water Consumption The Subject Of Bluewater Staff Report

Bluewater council has asked staff to prepare a report on how it might encourage residents to reduce their water consumption.

Mayor Tyler Hessel explains new builds require the use of efficient faucets and toilets and council wants to consider ways of providing incentives for people who are renovating homes to do the same thing.

Hessel says the goal is to reduce water consumption, but more importantly to reduce the amount of water the municipality has to treat.

Hessel says at this point it's just a consideration, but the municipality needs more sewer capacity to encourage new development so anything they can do to reduce their demands would be helpful. Hessel says they're asking staff to prepare a report on how it could be done and what might be gained.
