NHL'ers Contribute To Bayfield's 'Save Our Ice' Video

The Bayfield Arena Community Partnership Association introduced a video this week featuring some high-profile current and former Bayfield residents who want to see the ice remain in the Bayfield Arena.

The video features people like professional hockey players Cal and Ryan O'Reilly and San Jose Sharks and former Kitchener Ranger head coach Peter DeBoer.

Association Chair Ron Keys says other Bayfield residents are sending in their own personal videos taken on cell phones and making their case for keeping the ice in the Bayfield Arena.

Keys says the current video can be found on the Bayfield Arena Community Partnership Association Facebook page and will also be posted on their website shortly.

Bluewater council has already passed a motion to take the ice out permanently at the end of this season. They're also in the process of hiring a consultant to conduct a feasibility study on whether the ice is an important part of the recreational facilities in the municipality.
