More Local Workers Left The Labour Force In January

The unemployment rate for the Stratford-to-Bruce Peninsula Economic Region rose slightly in January.

It's sitting at 4.4%.

The Four County Labour Market Planning Board estimates employment fell by 2,600 in January. The loss was mainly attributed to fewer jobs in the goods-producing sector.

The provincial unemployment rate in January also increased to 5.2%.

There are two upcoming job fairs in Grey and Bruce counties.

The Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre in Owen Sound will host a job fair on February 28 from 2pm to 6 pm.
