Wanted Man Found In Trunk Of Car During Traffic Stop

A Meaford-area man wanted by the Owen Sound Police Service has been arrested by the OPP, but in a somewhat unusual fashion.

Police conducted a traffic stop early Sunday morning on Hwy. 21 near Concession 7 in the Township of Georgian Bluffs. The driver of the vehicle, a 60-year old woman from South Bruce Peninsula, was issued a summons for operating a vehicle without insurance.

During the stop, police discovered a man hiding in the trunk of the vehicle.

The 30-year-old was arrested on the strength of a warrant and turned over to the Owen Sound Police.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
